Education and Skills

Secondary or high school education
List the qualifications you achieved at school and dates of completion.  Secondary school qualifications are particularly important if you do not have any higher qualification, and if you do not yet have any career history behind you.

Include a note of any non-academic achievements such as sports achievements, prizes won, involvement in organising events etc.

Industry and technical knowledge
Note any knowledge that you have of particular business sectors or any areas of particular technical knowledge.  For example, do you have knowledge of retail or construction, do you have any knowledge of computer systems or current knowledge of human resource processes.

Interests/past-times/hobbies
If you have hobbies or interests which are relevant to your career or to the kinds of jobs you wish to apply for, or are likely to give a favourable impression of you to a prospective employer, then note them for possible inclusion in your CV.

Other potential work related skills
If you have any further details that might be of interest to an employer such as a driving licence or language skills, then note these down.

References
You should have the contact details of two referees who can be contacted by a prospective employer.  Ideally, they should be your current manager, and your previous manager.  Ensure that you confirm with your intended referees that they are happy to be contacted by a prospective employer.

It can be useful to have a third referee in the event that a prospective employer wants to contact your referees before they interview you.  Ideally, this should be your manager from your job before last.  Leave providing your current manager’s contact details until after you have been offered a position subject to references.
